Thanks for all your messages - the amount of concern from the rest of NZ and overseas has been overwhelming - and please keep the positive thoughts coming in our direction. Massive amount of damage, city is a wreck and sadly we've had fatalities this time. Blog may be absent for a bit for obvious reasons.
(However, woman on TV just said, "It was terrible. We were having Kentucky Fried Chicken. We'd just finished it." so I guess there it could've been worse, she could've been halfway through a bucket.)

Glad to hear you're okay. And you've still got your sense of humour during these dark times.
All the best. We're all thinking of you guys down there.
Thought of you immediately, glad you and your family are fine.
Glad you and yours are all ok.
Imagine the horror of still having a spicy chicken wing left when tragedy struck. Thank heavens they'd eaten it all.
Take care. Lx
Imagine the horror of eating KFC??
Sorry, too frivolous .. genuinely pleased you're all ok and hoping your city recovers soon.
I'm glad you're ok. I heard about the quake this am on NPR & immediately thought of you.
Good to hear you are safe. You must be synonymous with Christchurch as you were the first thing I thought of when I heard the news.
I mistyped "synonymous" then and my phone tried to say you were 'anonymous with Christchurch'. For an encore it tried to autocorrect "mistyped" to "miseries". I'm not sure what any of that means.
The pictures on TV are so shocking and the first thing I thought of when I heard it was Christchurch was you.
So glad you are safe and well. KFC for all.
You certainly are a bit of an ambassador... I worried for you too, when I heard the news on the radio. Glad you're ok. I hope everyone's feeling up to feasting on fried chicken very soon.
So glad to hear you are safe. I'm finding it hard to believe.
And I've never eaten KFC.
All I could think of when I heard where the earthquake was, was "Oh God, I hope Ally's OK..."
These computer thingies can make a big world seem very small sometimes.
i hate christchurch. (and KFC).
Glad you're okay.
Glad to hear you are ok. Stay safe.
Ah - nothing like a dark sense of humour to get you through the tough times. Glad you're OK. I never watch the news because it's too depressing but I caught a glimpse of the earthquake last night and the first thing I thought of was - my poor blogging friends!!
Thank you all for thinking of me when you heard the news, and for thinking of us in general. Good to know the support is out there!
Also, I am never eating KFC again. Too traumatised.
