I'm kind of disappointed. I really thought that we as a society had moved past the dumping-waste-out-of-planes stage. Would it kill us to keep it in holding tanks? And then eventually put it into the ocean? Must we put it into the ocean from on high? Does the pilot have a little button that says, "WASTE DUMP?" Does he push the little button and grin?
I don't really have much to say on the topic apart from "wow," "don't go fishing," and most importantly, "imagine how many whales have died needlessly because they have been hit by frozen (from the altitude) people poos."
SAVE THE WHALES
DON'T CRAP ON PLANES
Also, don't Google Search 'free willy.'
'Blowhole' is pretty safe though. Surprisingly.
EDIT: Someone tells me that the waste vaporises and does not fall to earth as a perfect poo. I am disappointed, but felt I should mention it before you all start writing to PeTA.

circle of life, my dear - animals poo, poo goes into ground/water.
Good God, Kat, we are not animals, we are PEOPLE
Yes, is like birds pooping on cars.
Incidentally - come online!! Want to check you are okay after earthquake.
Disturbing on so many levels. Like you, I thought it was a myth. Shattered...
I have been on boats and trains in third world countries where you go to the toilet and your waste just goes wherever gravity and momentum takes it. The boat was more of a barge, out to an (extremely stinky) island not far from the mainland. The trains have what looks like a proper toilet but if you look down the bowl there's just land and train track moving quickly along underneath you. I think they could be used to good effect in a movie plot.
So now you know: if you dress like a slutty nurse, God will punish the entire city.
Pretty tough on regular slutty nurses though, eh?
I totally am never going to go to the toilet on a flight again! I thought this had to be a myth as well.
Okay I just googled it and apparently it is actually a myth.

I had the train experience too, I remember they woke us up half an hour before we got into the city and told us it was our last chance to use the toilets (at least they don't dump in the cities!) Yucky.
